Van Der Aven is an Afrikaans alternative rock band based in Cape Town, South Africa. The musical trio of Paul Avenant, Theunis van der Merwe and Roelof van der Merwe have been making music and sharing stories since late 2016. 

The three members are all originally from the Great Karoo (Beaufort West and Murraysburg), and their sound is primarily influenced and inspired by it. Together they combine their three-part vocals and a multitude of instruments to create upbeat music with lyrics that always tell a story. Van Der Aven has shared the stage with the likes of Spoegworlf, Francois Van Coke, Die Heuwels Fantasties, Karen Zoid and Jeremy Loops - to name a few!

DEON MEIRING
Deon Meiring het op laerskool sy eerste liedjies begin skryf. Hy’t gedink dit gaan help met sy sukkelende romantiese loopbaan. Dit het nie, maar hy’t nogtans aanhou skryf. Deesdae speel hy sy liedjies van Glaskas, Dans Dans Lisa en sy soloprojek regoor Suid-Afrika. Hy’t darem intussen getrou ook. Deon se musiek was al in films en op TV gebruik en hy het al talle opkomende liedjieskrywers begelei om hulle vaardighede te verfyn. Hy skryf en bring ook steeds gereeld nuwe musiek uit. Sy nuutste enkelsnit “Laat my skyn” het in Maart vanjaar verskyn.
